          In celebration of Hilton Worldwide’s third annual Global Week of Service, Oct.19 – 25, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa partneredwith Child Watch Phuket Association to visit Uncle Pitak Home, a children's home, on Oct. 22 where more than 35 volunteers from the hotel contributed donations and renovated the facilities for the children.
          On Oct. 17, volunteers from the hotel organized a Hilton Market Day, an open air Thai-style market in the hotel. Guests could sample and buy local products including food and drinks,clothing and Thai herbs. All of the proceeds from the market event were donated to the Uncle Pitak Home.
          On Oct. 22, the team visited Uncle Pitak Home to organize a day of fun and games as well as renovate its facilities. The team was divided into two groups--one group restored the playground, shower and sink area while the other group entertained the children with songs, games and storytelling. The team prepared a small cooking class for the children to learn how to make cupcakes and waffles, which they also enjoyed eating afterward. The team at Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa is now scheduled to visit the facility every three months to support the activities with the children and other renovation projects throughout the year.
          Community service is an integral part of Hilton Worldwide’s culture, and acts of volunteerism
occur year-round across our portfolio of eleven distinct brands and more than 4,250 properties. Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa’s efforts are a part of Hilton Worldwide’s week-long annual celebration of the company’s commitment to serving and enriching the communities where we live, work and travel. This year, Hilton Worldwide participated in more than 3,000 hands-on service projects globally.
          Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa recently won the Thailand MICE Venues Vote Awards 2014 for Corporate Social Responsibility which underscored its commitment to providing underprivileged children in the community with essential life skills and opportunities to be surrounded by a positive environment.
          “The children were very excited about the visit and the teachers were touched by the great team effort and hard work exemplified by the hotel team. We are very appreciative of the time the hotel has invested to assist us with the renovation and to spend time with the children, and we look forward to working together again in the next few months on other upcoming projects,” said KwantaYalong, manager, Uncle Pitak Home.
          During Global Week of Service, Team Members are encouraged to share their personal
stories of service and hospitality. Throughout the week, photos and stories will be posted at

          In 2013, Team Members at more than 900 properties and offices completed more than 2,400
volunteer projects in 700 cities across the company’s global footprint. The projects focused on engaging Team Members and delivering on Hilton Worldwide’s commitment to Travel with Purpose by creating opportunities, strengthening communities, celebrating cultures and living sustainably. This year, the company aims to build upon this community engagement and is striving to complete more than 3,000 service projects.
