The pandemic has
now claimed the lives of more than 20,000 and infected more than 400,000 people
around the world. Unless we can aggressively slow the spread of the virus, it
is likely Hospitals and Hospital workers will be overwhelmed hence why public,
private and individual contributions are needed urgently. Unilever Thailand Makes 40 Million Baht Donation to Hospital Heroes against Covid

“All around the world we are witnessing the frightening spread of the Covid-19 virus and the devastating impact it is having on healthcare systems and the workers who are risking their own lives to keep us safe” said Rob Candelino, CEO Unilever Thailand. “Unilever Thailand is making this substantial donation of soaps, detergents, sanitizers and food products directly to those heroes who are working the front lines of the crisis. It’s the very least we can do to thank them. It’s our way of letting them know that Unilever is grateful for their efforts and we will always support them and the people of Thailand like we have throughout our 87-year history in this country.”

This is the second major donation Unilever Thailand has announced this week as part of their generous Covid-19 support program. This is part of Unilever’s broader global commitment of 20 billion Baht (600 million Euro) in products and financial assistance to help the relief efforts around the world.
