Press Releases »

UOB Thailand, in partnership with Thailand Collaboration for Education (TCFE), is ramping up its efforts to connect students to wider learning opportunities through the continued success of UOB My Digital Space (MDS) programme. This digital learning initiative has now reached more than 4,500 students in eight remote schools , with recent results showing clear improvements in academic performance, digital confidence, and student engagement.

UOB Thailand and Thailand Collaboration for Education deepen impact in remote classrooms with proven digital learning programme

Originally launched to address barriers to digital access, UOB MDS has evolved into a full-spectrum education support programme — offering not only digital tools and skills but also mentoring, teaching support and continuous monitoring. Teachers reported improvements in students' grades, especially in core subjects, along with noticeable gains in motivation and classroom behaviour. This marks a significant step forward, transitioning from offering resources to achieving measurable educational outcomes.

Public invited to join the effort

The expansion of UOB MDS programme in Thailand aligns with UOB Group's commitment to equip 20,000 disadvantaged students across ASEAN with digital learning tools and skills under the programme, as part of the Group's 90th anniversary. To further expand the programme's reach, UOB Thailand and TCFE are inviting public to provide their support through these two channels:

  • UOB credit card points redemption: From now till 31 October 2025, UOB cardholders can choose to make a 200 baht donation for a redemption of 1,000 points, which is double the usual conversion rate.
  • Direct donations: Contributions can be made via www.tcfe.or.th.

Mr Richard Maloney, President and Chief Executive Officer of UOB Thailand, said, "We believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow through education. What stands out in this phase of UOB My Digital Space is the clear progress that students are making - stronger results, higher engagement and greater confidence. With public support, we can expand this success and create more lasting changes across communities."

Ms Kanokwan Chowsri, Director of Thailand Collaboration for Education, Yuvabadhana Foundation, "When students are given consistent support - digital tools, mentoring and continuity - they can build momentum in their learning. Working with UOB Thailand has enabled us to extend this approach to more schools and see students grow in ways that are both meaningful and measurable."

Highlights from the latest programme data:

  • Academic improvement: More students are reaching 'good' performance levels in core subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English.
  • Better learning mindset: Students show greater enthusiasm, confidence, and digital fluency during learning sessions.
  • Enhanced behaviour: Teachers observe better discipline, teamwork, and self-directed learning during digital sessions.

The initiative continues to gain momentum with strong support from UOB's employees, customers, and community partners, underlining a shared commitment to inclusive education and sustainable learning opportunities for all.
