UOB Thailand joins TAT campaign to support domestic tourism

Bangkok, 20 July 2026 - UOB Thailand has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in the UOB x TAT: Travel Thailand Together campaign, joining as the banking partner to support domestic tourism, stimulate spending, and help distribute tourism income to local businesses across the country.

This partnership reflects TAT's ongoing commitment to collaborating with private sector partners to promote domestic tourism. Through such collaborations, TAT aims to encourage Thais to travel more within the country, stimulate tourism spending, and generate nationwide economic circulation. UOB Thailand's credit card data for the first half of 2026 show that travel and hotel spending in Thailand remained among the top five categories for its cardholders. The trend reflects sustained consumer interest in local trips and the continued role of household spending in supporting the tourism sector.

Mr Nithee Seeprae, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Tourism Authority of Thailand, said, "The primary objective of the UOB x TAT Travel Thailand Together initiative is to encourage domestic travel and help distribute income to communities and local businesses across Thailand. The support from UOB Thailand, through privileges that align with travelers' needs, will help encourage travel decisions and create more spending opportunities during trips. This will contribute positively to the overall tourism industry this year."

Ms Suporntip Pongsachamnankit, Head of Credit Card Products, Card Payments & Unsecured Products Personal Financial Services, UOB Thailand, said, "Domestic travel and accommodation remain among the key spending categories for UOB credit cardholders, reflecting the continued role of domestic demand in supporting Thailand's tourism sector. Drawing on these insights, we have developed this campaign to help our customers travel domestically with greater value, while contributing directly to spending flows entrepreneurs, hotels, and tourism-related businesses in local communities."

Under the UOB x TAT Travel Thailand Together campaign, UOB credit cardholders can enjoy exclusive travel benefits for domestic travel within Thailand by redeeming UOB Rewards Points for 15% cashback on direct hotel accommodation payments made to participating hotels in Thailand (This offer excludes bookings made through online travel agencies (OTAs)).
