First established in 1987, the Group continues to build on its track record of success as a defining force in hospitality and tourism. Mr. Gavin M Faull, Chairman and President of Swiss-Belhotel International and Zest Hotel International, attributes the brand's achievements to a collaborative approach.
"Our success is due to one major asset, which is people. Our management, qualified executives and hotel teams are dedicated to what they do, on a local, regional and group level. That includes my three sons who have all joined Swiss-Belhotel International and become an integral part of its driving force. Our loyal guests, time and again, show their belief in the brand's quality and our philosophy of Passion and Professionalism™. Without this, no company can survive let alone thrive in the competitive hospitality market or attain longevity."
"Our investors and property owners have also shown confidence in the integrity and capability of Swiss-Belhotel International," he added.
Swiss-Belhotel International was born in Hong Kong with the signing of a 10-year management contract for the Jianguo Hotel Beijing, making history from the start as the first international company to manage a hotel in China. The Group has since expanded rapidly with a suite of 11 brands covering everything from budget to luxury stays.
The company's core brands comprise: Grand Swiss-Belhotel; Grand Swiss-Belresort; Swiss-Belhotel; Swiss-Belresort; Swiss-Belboutique; Swiss-Belsuites; Swiss-Belvillas; Swiss-Belresidences; Swiss-Belinn; Swiss-Belcourt and Swiss-Belexpress. The Group also has three brands under the Zest Hotels International umbrella, which focuses on the designer budget market and already enjoys a high volume of online bookings.
While recognising '30 Years of Success', Swiss-Belhotel International also highlights 1999 as an important milestone in its history, when Gavin M Faull and his business partner James Tam acquired 100% of the Group from Founder Peter Gautschi. Following Asia's financial crisis in the late '90s, the pair built up the company from three operating hotels to the hospitality leader it is today.
Emphasizing Swiss-Belhotel International as a brand for the future, Gavin M Faull highlights several new projects on the horizon. "We have focused on developing brand value and trust and the results are endorsed by the market and the hotel industry. In September 2017, we invested in the management rights of Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu in Queenstown, New Zealand which is already among the Top 10 operations within Swiss-Belhotel International. As we grow globally, we are expanding rapidly into the e-commerce market and seizing more digital business opportunities too," he explained.
Swiss-Belhotel International is set to announce new management agreements in the Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia, notably Vietnam and Indonesia. With these agreements, and the launch of its latest property in New Zealand this year, the company is setting strong foundations to soar for the next 30 years.
