PwC Thailand announces new CEO Chanchai Chaiprasit

Chanchai will succeed Sira Intarakumthornchai, the current CEO for PwC Thailand, whose term will end on 30 June this year. Sira has served the Thailand firm as CEO since July 2012.

Chanchai has worked for PwC Thailand for more than two decades, and is currently the Line of Service (LoS) leader of the Assurance practice. This experience underlines his in-depth understanding of the firm’s core business, and demonstrates an ability to manage its complex challenges.

“I’m pleased to announce that Chanchai Chaiprasit will take over as our CEO for the next four years,” Sira said.

“I’m confident that Chanchai will lead the Thailand firm into an even brighter and more prosperous era. His passion for using the latest technology to reshape our existing businesses will allow us to meet ever-increasing demands for higher-value services.”

Chanchai joined Price Waterhouse’s Assurance practice in 1997 prior to the merger with Coopers & Lybrand, which created PricewaterhouseCoopers the following year. Admitted as a partner in 2006, he is well regarded and widely known among accounting professionals, the business community and key regulators.

“It’s my great honour to lead PwC Thailand for the next four years,” Chanchai said. “I’m committed to seeing PwC reach new heights as the leading professional services firm, a trusted advisor that truly lives up to its purpose to build trust in society and solve important problems.”

Sira oversaw a time of tremendous growth and achievement during his two terms as CEO. During his eight-year tenure, he was instrumental in positioning PwC Thailand as the market leading professional services network firm both in Thailand and across South East Asia.

Importantly, he raised the profile of PwC Thailand as a thought leader among clients, the media and the general public. He has revolutionised the firm to become a technology-driven organisation, a legacy that leaves a solid foundation for the next generation of PwC leaders and employees.
