The Eastern Gateway, Thailand's first fully integrated smart industrial estate, is partnering with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to significantly advance its energy infrastructure. Focused on delivering a highly stable and secure electricity system vital for large-scale, long-term business growth, the collaboration encompasses the development, monitoring, and establishment of underground and overhead power lines, alongside a dedicated on-site substation, all designed to meet international standards and MEA's rigorous safety protocols.
Ms. Kamonkarn Kongkathong, Managing Director of ARAYA Land Development Company Limited, stated, "Energy stability is critical to the long-term success of the industrial sector. Our collaboration with MEA assures investors have access to a robust, uninterrupted electricity supply, fully capable of supporting future production capacity expansion. An on-site substation at ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway not only guarantees enhanced voltage stability and minimises system discontinuity risks but also provides confidence to businesses that require 24-hour power, particularly in high-tech and digital industries. We anticipate MEA to commence power supply from this substation by 2Q 2027 to accommodate the first group of operators. This affirms the estate's readiness to support investment right from the outset of operations."
A resilient electrical system is essential for tenants at ARAYA Industrial Estate, spanning industries including data centres, semiconductor, food & beverage, and logistics enterprises - all of whom demand stable, continuous 24-hour power.
Beyond the electrical system, the project has also planned for comprehensive essential utility infrastructure. This includes a robust water supply from the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA), providing up to 40,000 cubic metres per day, natural gas from PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) and a cutting-edge underground fiber optic network with 5G connectivity from Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS), significantly enhancing digital connectivity.
The project is poised to attract substantial long-term private sector investments and is projected to generate over 14,560 direct and indirect jobs. This will play a significant role in driving the nation's target industries and strengthening Thailand's long-term competitive edge.
This collaboration between ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway and the MEA exemplifies a shared vision to elevate Thai industrial estate standards to a global benchmark. This is achieved through the development of highly stable and secure energy infrastructure to efficiently support modern industries and lay a solid foundation for sustainable long-term economic growth.
Strategically located on Bangna-Trad Road, KM. 32, in Samut Prakan province, ARAYA - The Eastern Gateway offers direct connectivity to Thailand's core transportation networks, including deep-sea ports, airports, and crucial regional logistics infrastructure. Positioned within the dynamic Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), the area presents substantial potential for both domestic and international investment.
