Applied Precision's PrecisionPoint VX2 Probe Card Analyzer
Enables Testing of 128-DUT Probe Cards
New 4500 Channel Option Enters Beta Testing
At Major Semiconductor Fab in Southeast Asia
SEMICON Singapore, Booth 225
SINGAPORE, May 8 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- Applied Precision has entered the Beta testing phase of the 4500 channel Extension option for the PrecisionPoint(TM) VX2 Probe Card Analyzer with help from a major semiconductor fab in Southeast Asia. The Extension option has the highest channel (4500) and probe test capability (8000) of any probe card analyzer on the market, enabling efficient and extremely accurate testing of next-generation, ASIC and advanced memory multi-DUT probe cards.

"The PrecisionPoint VX2 Probe Card Analyzer is uniquely able to test, build and repair the most advanced probe card technologies and provides both improved process tolerances and increased productivity without compromising test data quality," said Bob Heiligenberg, product line manager for Applied Precision's semiconductor solutions. "Further, the 4500 channel Extension will be available as both an option on a new system and as an upgrade to our installed base. The advancement to 4500 channels is driven by our customers' need to test more die at once, lowering their test costs per die, whether it be 128-DUT testing for memory chips or multi-DUT ASIC testing."
Production versions of the PrecisionPoint VX2 with a 4500 channel Extension option or upgrade are expected to be available in September 2000.
