MUNICH: Biopharmaceutical company Morphochem AG will enter a research collaboration with Aventis Pharma to ultimately develop novel drugs for treating a range of bacterial infections, it was announced today. John Hodgson, Aventis' head of Anti-infectives, said, "The Aventis -- Morphochem collaboration addresses the most urgent requirement in our industry, namely the need to generate clinical (drug) candidates faster and more efficiently."
PURCHASE: PepsiCo said today it has resumed product shipments to Kmart outlets after Kmart's filing earlier this week for reorganization under U.S. bankruptcy law. PepsiCo said it "expects there will be no material impact on its earnings as a result" of this decision.

HOUSTON: BMC Software, Inc. today released its financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2002, ended December 31, 2001, reporting "positive operating income and cash flow". The company's net earnings were $19.9 million, with diluted earnings per share at $.08, "which is within the estimated range provided earlier this month", the company said.
