Mr Fred Mouawad, Chairman & CEO of GFA Corporation (Thailand) Ltd has announced the appointment of Mr Joseph Cherian as Managing Director with immediate effect.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Cherian held the position of Assistant Manager & Corporate General Manager International Business Development. His key focus always has been on setting up strong systems and coaching to build a superior team which will enable GFA to advance strongly in the years to come alongside working with the Chairman & CEO for key projects of the group.
GFA Corporation (Thailand) Ltd specialises in building, operating and franchising retail brands including Coffee World, The Cream & Fudge Factory, Pizza Corner and New York Deli both in Thailand and internationally.
Mr Cherian’s key focus in the coming years will be in continuing the efforts to build a world-class infrastructure in Thailand to support GFA international expansion.
Prior to joining GFA, Mr Cherian worked in Dubai for a consultancy firm Thomas Klein International in setting up new high-end restaurants and across the Middle East. Whilst working there, he also held the role of Franchise Manager -- Middle East for the establishment of Lipton T -Junction under the Unilever Arabia umbrella. Prior to that Mr Cherian worked with various leading organisations, including McDonald’s in India as a Training Consultant.
Mr Cherian understands well the international market and uses a global approach, as he has spent time in numerous countries, including Australia, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Egypt and the Middle East.
Mr Cherian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management from India as well as having completed various management programmes including Advanced Operations Management Course at Hamburger University in Sydney - Australia and the Training Consultant Course in Hamburger University in Chicago - USA.
