The “Ocean Life Insurance Presents MIC Idol3” singing contest was opened to recruit young aspiring singers who would like to pursue a career in the music industry, aged between 15 and 24 years. Among over 3,000 applicants to this project, twenty-five talented contestants were selected to go on to the semi-final round and finally, four gifted finalists were selected into the final round which took place on Friday, December 23rd, 2011 at CentralPoint Playhouse @Central World, 7th Floor of Central World Shopping Complex.
To win the final round of the “MIC Idol3” contest, each of the four finalists were assigned to perform a mini-concert of their own concept, utilizing not only their personal musical skills, but also the performing arts to draw the audience’s admiration toward their competing concept. The four finalists had participated in an intensive musical workshop with GMM Grammy to sharpen their talent. Although extremely nervous with their solo show at the final competition, all finalists had performed to their full in their mini-concert, which had drawn a multitude of cheering and hooting from the excited crowds.

Therefore, the opening of opportunity for them to shine out and show off their talent is very important as part of an effort to help build the future of Thailand. These four winners of our singing contest had proved to be good examples of young people who are determined to follow their dreams of becoming professional artists. They have been dedicated to the training and tried to bring the best out of themselves in each competition round. Finally, their relentless effort to succeed has paid off and everyone has witnessed their shining talent in this contest. We hope that this event will also serve as a source of inspiration for many other young generations to come out and start making their dreams come true, no matter what they are. Because true successes are rare to be accomplished, these winners have showed very clearly that it takes firm devotion, patience and sacrifice.”
Ball-Sirichoke Sae-Thang, a finalist from Southern Thailand who is also becoming a university freshman, has been bestowed the winner of this singing contest. He shared his feeling toward his success at this competition: “I would like to extend my appreciation to all the adults who have been involved in the organization of this contest to open up an opportunity for young people like myself to show off our talent. I would also like to thank all the audience for their cheering spirits. More importantly, I thank myself for not giving up my dreams to become a professional singer over the past 6-7 years.
Although I have been held back and let down along the path of pursuing my dreams, today I have finally embarked on the first step to begin my career in the music industry.”
Ae-Rachada Mapol, a finalist from Central Thailand, a fourth-year student of Islamic College, has been awarded the first runner-up. She shared her view about the contest: “I have always been fascinated with singing and it’s been my lifelong dream to stand on the stage as a professional singer. I have entered several singing contests, both under small and big projects and I have tasted both satisfaction and disappointment. When I leaned about this competition, I realized again that it was a chance for young people to make their dreams come true. And finally, I have succeeded by starting my professional singing career with GMM Grammy.”
M- Suthichai Limcharoenchaikul, a finalist from Central Thailand and the second runner-up, shared his experience in the path of pursuing his dreams in singing: “I have always been in love with singing since I was a little child, and I feel so happy every time I sing. It got to the point when I realized that if I love singing so much as this, I shouldn’t just ignore my dreams to become a singer. I should start somewhere. Singing contests are open-doors for opportunities to make my dreams come true and I have continued entering several competitions ever since I became a university student. By improving my singing skills and taking singing lessons to learn the proper technique to sing, I have travelled an exhausting path of sweats and tears. Sometimes I got disheartened but I always told myself to pursue it hard until I received this award. This is the beginning of my dreams to become a professional singer.”
Mild- Duangruthai Suwannakoot, a singing diva from North-Eastern Thailand, was awarded the third runner-up and winner of the popular vote. She shared her feeling about this contest: “I am very proud of the success today. This is the highest achievement of my life at this point. In the past, I have competed in many singing contests and tried to practice my skills constantly. I would like to urge everyone who loves singing and has a dream to become a singer to practice hard and do their best to pursue their dreams no matter how the results would be. Someday, their dreams may also come true.”
These winners are examples of young aspiring singers who never give up their dreams and follow the path of pursuing their singing career along the road that may not be sprinkled with rose petals.
