Subaru has Thailand’s auto market firmly in its sights. A roadshow and special promotional campaign, to last until year-end, will highlight the debut of Subaru’s XV model in the Thai market. The brand-new crossover is expected to give a major boost to end-of-year sales and increase the company’s overall market share. Announcing the company’s Q4 marketing strategy, Mr. Apichai Thammasirarak, General Manager of Motor Image (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Subaru’s official distributor in Thailand, explained that the new strategy will increase the company’s profile and market penetration. In addition, the launch of the XV will mark a turning point for Subaru’s positioning and its transformation from a niche brand to a mainstream player in the Thai market. The XV is the ultimate crossover SUV. Winner of the Good Design Award 2012, the XV boasts superb performance, thanks to the acclaimed Subaru Boxer engine which delivers excellent fuel economy and brisk acceleration with a high level of torque, even at low speed. Economy and refinement are further boosted by the Lineartronic CVT (continuous variable transmission) gearbox, while Subaru’s trademark symmetrical All Wheel Drive and Subaru All-Around Safety systems give the XV great safety and handling properties. The XV is to be assembled in Malaysia by Tan Chong Motor Assemblies Sdn Bhd (TCMA) at a state-of-the-art facility with a capacity of 5,000 cars per year. The first vehicle will roll off the production line in January 2013. The Subaru XV will be officially launched at the Thailand International Motor Expo from 29 November to 19 December, 2012, where first orders will be accepted. Concurrently, Subaru will also launch the globally acclaimed Subaru BRZ rear-engined sports car, as well as other Subaru models- the Legacy GT, Outback 2013 model, Forester 2.0XS and the Impreza STI. Subaru currently has 14 showrooms and service centers across Thailand, with 7 located in Bangkok. To prepare for the new model introductions in 2013, the company plans to open another 10 showrooms and service centers around the country. The expanded nationwide service and distribution network will help support the anticipated strong growth in Subaru’s market share and ensure superlative after-sales service to all Subaru owners. -NT- Click for photo release at www.thaipr.net
