Bangkok: AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd., a leading global biopharmaceutical company, today announced the appointment of Mr. John Serry as Country President, Thailand and Frontier Markets. In this role, he will oversee AstraZeneca's overall operations in Thailand and Frontier Markets, including Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Maldives, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka. He will also lead the company's strategy to accelerate growth, innovation, and patient access.

John brings extensive international leadership experience across AstraZeneca, having held senior roles in the US, Global, International, and Europe across sales, marketing, market access, finance, and commercial leadership. He also spent more than a decade in the US business, underscoring the breadth of his experience across AstraZeneca's key markets. Most recently, he served as Head of Oncology and Hematology Commercial for Western and Southern Europe, and the Nordics, at AstraZeneca's office in Switzerland, where he led a business covering 12 countries and five tumor areas with nearly US$1 billion in annual revenue. He previously served as Business Unit Director for Oncology in Egypt, where he helped drive exceptional business growth and strengthen market leadership.

John joins AstraZeneca Thailand at a pivotal time for the company. AstraZeneca is now the No. 3 pharmaceutical company in Thailand, with strong momentum driven by scientific innovation, a strong pipeline of upcoming launches across key disease areas, and a long-term commitment to patients. The company is also the No. 1 R&D investor in Thailand, with THB 4.5 billion invested over the past five years to advance clinical research and help bring innovative medicines to Thai patients.
