PATT Foundation distributed 2000 Thyme seedlings to celebrate World Food Day
Plant A Tree Today Foundation (PATT) had the privilege of being part of World Food Day as part of Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.
PATT Foundation distributed 2000 Thyme herb seedlings to farmers, fishermen, school children and women, an initiative organized by Ministry of Environment starting from the 16th of October, however it is an ongoing project. The Thyme Herb was chosen to encourage individuals to grow herbs and other food bearing plants and trees in their homes, to promote family farming.
The 2014 World Food Day had the theme of ‘family farming’ this year therefore PATT Foundation was able to support this event by showcasing the work that they do for local communities and reforestation.
The PATT Foundation intends to extend their efforts to the UAE shortly. The charity hopes to set up and plant 1 million trees locally, environmentally educate and create innovative avenues for a sustainable environment. PATT reaches out to invite organizations, individuals, volunteers and donations to support the causes giving back to the country and environment where we live and consume resources each day.
Plant A Tree Today Foundation is a registered British charity and Thai foundation established in 2005 promoting reforestation initiatives through environmental education. PATT’s projects focus on three main areas: native forest restoration, environmental education and community development.
