Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, presented the Thailand Energy Awards 2022 to SCG Packaging Public Company Limited, or SCGP, for its outstanding achievement in creative energy management. The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Energy. Mr. Adisak Vorakunpinij, Innovation and Product Development Director, received the award on behalf of the company. This recognition stems from developing an innovative pilot scale combustor designed to enhance fuel usage and promote the efficient use of biomass energy. The combustor is remarkable for its ability to use various alternative fuels, such as sugarcane leaves, rice straw, wood bark, agricultural waste, and industrial waste, in conjunction with coal, this groundbreaking innovation enables its application in industrial steam boilers. This innovation supports the conversion of waste into value in the form of energy, reduces reliance on imported coal, supports the country's policy to boost alternative energy use, utilizes domestic resources effectively, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and increases the income of local farmers, benefiting society and the environment as a whole. The award presentation ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom, Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok.
