Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) continues to strengthen its support for the Department of Fisheries' ongoing operations to manage the Blackchin Tilapia population in Thai water sources. This initiative brings together various sectors, including the Department of Corrections, Land Development Department, farmers, and community leaders in collaborative "Fishing Day" events.
Recently, the company joined Nakhon Si Thammarat to arrange the 5th "community fishing" event in Hua Sai district canals, supported by CPF with fishing equipment including food and drinking water, which yielded 1,706 kilograms of fish. These will be used to produce bio-fermented water for free distribution to farmers.
Mr. Kobsak Khetmueang, Fisheries Provincial Officer of Nakhon Si Thammarat, reported that the province's five community fishing events have removed over 8 tons of Blackchin Tilapia from water sources to date.
Nonthaburi province, is aggressively addressing this issue. A recent event, supported by CPF, resulted in the capture of 50 kilograms of fish, including Blackchin Tilapia and other local species.

Over the past month, CPF has supported more than 30 fishing events across 15 provinces, removing over 26,000 kilograms of fish. The company has provided 70,000 Asian Seabass for release into natural waters. The partnership with King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang employs eDNA technology for more accurate fish population surveys.
The company also expanded collaboration with the Department of Corrections, focusing on producing bio-fermented water and fish sauce from Blackchin Tilapia, simultaneously providing skill development opportunities for inmates.
In Nakhon Si Thammarat, CPF is supporting students of Chumchon Wat Koh Peth school to produce bio-fermented water and collaborating with local businesses to develop food menus using Blackchin Tilapia.
These ongoing efforts underscore CPF's commitment to be part of the contribution to help the country surpass crises. The company continues to work closely with government agencies and local communities to implement effective, long-term solutions for this situation.
