What is JFF Theater? JFF THEATER a Platform for the Free Worldwide Streaming of Japanese Films

JFF Theater is an online streaming service that distributes Japanese films and videos worldwide, with multilingual subtitles, all free of charge. Through this website, the Japan Foundation aims to create a platform where Japanese films and videos can be viewed anytime, anywhere.

Based on the theme Moved, Touched & Inspired, JF strives to connect with international audiences, cultivating meaningful connections and inspiring exchanges among both new and longtime fans of Japanese cinema.

In 2016, The Japan Foundation, as part of the JFF Asia-Pacific Gateway Initiative, established the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) with the aim to share Japanese cinema with 10 ASEAN countries and Australia. We have expanded to China and India in 2017, and then to Russia in 2018. In 2023, JFF was held in 10 countries with more than 120,000 participants. JFF is scheduled to be held again in 10 countries in 2024.
