WeTV Thailand has announced its 2026 business plan under the theme of sustainable growth through the "3C" strategy — Content, Connect, and Co Create — during the WeTV Always More 2026 event. The platform aims to deliver high-quality entertainment, enhance an integrated viewing experience, and strengthen the complete WeTV ecosystem to reinforce its position as a leading premium video streaming platform in Asia. At the event, WeTV also unveiled Chinese actor Ding Yuxi as the newest WeTV Global Ambassador, representing the brand's growing influence as a global entertainment platform that bridges Thai and Chinese content and audiences.
Mr. Nattaporn Runghajornklin, Country Manager of WeTV Thailand, stated that "In 2025, WeTV Thailand continued to lead the streaming market with over 55 million downloads. WeTV ranks No. 1 among advertising video on demand (AVOD) services and No. 2 for subscription video on demand (SVOD) platforms. Meanwhile, WeTV paid subscription grew by 40%, and subscription revenue rose by 45% year-over-year. On average, users spent around 100 minutes per day on the platform — placing WeTV among the top two OTT platforms in Southeast Asia in terms of monthly watch time per user."
Viewer trends continued to reflect strong engagement with both Chinese and Thai content. Chinese series account for over 50% of the paid subscriptions, with the paid subscription increasing 54% year-over-year. Meanwhile, Thai content represents 30% of the paid subscriptions, led by the growing popularity of Boy's Love (BL) and Girl's Love (GL) series.
These insights reaffirm WeTV's position as one of the leading streaming platforms for premium Asian drama fans in Thailand and across Southeast Asia.
For 2026, WeTV will accelerate its business momentum under three core strategies:
- Content Excellence
WeTV will continue to produce and curate world-class content, with over 500 premium Chinese series across categories such as C-Series, C-Miniseries, C-Anime, C-Variety, and C-Shorts. The platform will also expand its original BL lineup with at least six new titles and GL-exclusive license with eight new releases, reinforcing its ambition to become "The Biggest Hub of Girl's Love Content" in Thailand. In addition, WeTV will collaborate with regional partners through Licensing and Revenue-Sharing models to distribute high-quality content across global market, while also introducing more mass-appealing variety shows from Thai production and Thai dramas to cater to local tastes and expansion of audience reach.
- Connect Through Experience
WeTV aims to elevate user engagement through new in-app features and O2O (Online-to-Offline) experiences that bring fans closer to their favorite stars and shows. The platform will host fan meetings with Chinese artists in Thailand, organize exclusive fan trips to China, and expand community-driven activities around BL and GL content to strengthen fandom bonds and drive continuous engagement.
- Co Create to Shared Success
WeTV is dedicated to empowering its partners to achieve their highest business goals and committed to promoting Thai content as a soft power on the global stage. The platform will launch a new initiative, "Shorts x WeTV," to empower creators and partners to produce high-quality short-form content tailored for digital-first audiences and achieves impactful business results, with opportunities for distribution across China and beyond through WeTV's extensive global network. Moreover, HEADLINER THAILAND artists will play a key role in connecting WeTV's business ecosystem with creative and commercial partners for long-term collaborative growth.
