Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle Introduces "Stories by the Fire," an Intimate Experience Celebrating Heritage, Culture and Conservation

Set in an intimate, relaxed atmosphere at Mai Pai Lounge, guests are welcomed after dinner to settle by the glowing fire with a curated selection of hot drinks, digestives, toasted marshmallows and popcorn — simple comforts that evoke childhood memories, elevated by meaningful storytelling and a remarkable jungle setting.

Stories That Carry History Forward

Each session is shaped by the rhythm of the season — the crisp night air, the soft crackle of flames and the shared stillness that allows stories to resonate more deeply. "Carefully selected and presented in an engaging, accessible way, the stories explore themes of history, humanity and hope, offering guests a deeper understanding of the region," shares Paweena. Among the stories shared is The Moholatuek Drum, centred on one of Southeast Asia's oldest cultural artefacts. During the session, the storyteller presents an actual bronze drum, bringing to life its role in early civilisations. "The story reveals how rhythm and music once served as tools of communication, ritual and unity — connecting communities across generations and reminding guests of storytelling's ancient power to bring people together," she reveals.

Voices of Community and Resilience

Another featured story explores The Hill Tribes of Thailand, taking guests into the lives of five distinct communities whose traditions, craftsmanship and deep connection to nature continue to shape the region. Told with warmth and respect, the story celebrates resilience, cultural identity and harmony with the land, offering insight into how these communities have preserved their way of life through centuries of change. The evening may also turn to The Royal Project, initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This narrative reflects a vision rooted in compassion — one that transformed livelihoods through sustainable agriculture, education and environmental conservation, while protecting Thailand's fragile ecosystems. It stands as a powerful reminder of how thoughtful leadership can uplift both people and place.
