Initiative Promoting Sustainable Waste Separation through the "Weekend Recycle Market" and RVM Installation Nationwide
CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, the operator of Makro and Lotus's, continues to drive environmental sustainability under the campaign "AXTRA Green Together", based on the concept "Small Actions, Big Change for a Sustainable World." In partnership with Wastebuy Delivery Co., Ltd., the company has launched the "Weekend Recycle Market ตลาดนัดรีไซเคิล 'รักษ์โลก สร้างรายได้'" initiative to promote proper waste separation and encourage public participation in recycling. The activity takes place every Saturday and Sunday through the end of 2025 at 10 Makro and Lotus's branches across Bangkok.
At the same time, CP AXTRA has introduced the "RVM by CP AXTRA x Wastebuy" project, installing Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) to make plastic bottle returns easier and more accessible. The machines are available 24 hours a day, allowing people to return plastic bottles and earn reward points via a digital platform. All collected bottles will be sent into a continuous recycling process, reinforcing the circular economy and sustainable resource management.
The launch event was attended by Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth is Chief Sustainability of Bangkok and the Advisor to the Governor of Bangkok, and Dr. Phanit Ratasuk, Director of Waste and Hazardous Substances Management Division, Pollution Control Department (PCD), who joined to show their support for the initiative.
Mrs. Siriporn Dechsingha, Chief Corporate Sustainability and Communication Officer, CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, stated: "CP AXTRA is deeply committed to creating real environmental change through the 'AXTRA Green Together' initiative, which unites the power of government, private sector, customers, and communities to drive sustainable waste management. The 'Weekend Recycle Market' and the 'RVM by CP AXTRA x Wastebuy' project represent major steps forward in connecting technology and innovation with consumer behavior — proving that recycling not only reduces waste but also transforms discarded materials into new value for society and the environment."
The "Weekend Recycle Market ตลาดนัดรีไซเคิล 'รักษ์โลก สร้างรายได้'" provides recycling collection points for clear plastic bottles, glass bottles, paper boxes, cardboard, and aluminum cans, where participants can exchange recyclables for cash on-site. The market operates every weekend from November through December 2025 at the following 10 Makro and Lotus's branches in Bangkok: Makro Sathorn, Makro Ladprao, Makro Srinakarin, Makro Ramintra, Makro Praditmanutham, Lotus's Rama 1, Lotus's Rama 3, Lotus's Rama 4, Lotus's Bangkapi, and Lotus's Ramintra.
The "RVM by CP AXTRA x Wastebuy" project installs Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) at five Makro branches -Sathorn, Ladprao, Si Ayutthaya, Samsen, and Charansanitwong. Each RVM accepts plastic bottles up to two liters in size and rewards users with digital points. The returned bottles are systematically processed for recycling, ensuring that all materials re-enter the production cycle as part of a circular and sustainable economy.
In the near future, CP AXTRA plans to expand both the Weekend Recycle Market and RVM installation network nationwide, encouraging waste segregation, promoting plastic recycling, and inspiring everyone to take part in protecting the environment.
