JSCCIB and World Bank Unveil Strategic Economic Roadmap for "Thailand's Global Offer" at Bangkok Business Summit 2026

Today, the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking (JSCCIB), comprising the Thai Bankers' Association, the Board of Trade of Thailand, and the Federation of Thai Industries, in partnership with the World Bank, Ministry of Finance, National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and Bank of Thailand, convened 'The Bangkok Business Summit 2026: Reinvent Thailand, Resilient ASEAN' at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

The summit served as a critical milestone for private sector-led policy recommendations presented to the Thai government and global Foreign Direct Investors (FDIs). A core highlight of the event was the launch of the World Bank flagship report, 'Building Thailand's Future Today: The Investment and Growth Playbook,' which detailed pathways to elevate real GDP growth to 5.5% and accelerate Thailand's transition into an inclusive, high-income country.

Unlocking 'Thailand's Global Offer' Across Five Key Industries.

The summit highlighted 'Thailand's Global Offer' positioning the country as ASEAN's premier hub for global production, green and digital transitions, and high-value services. To capture global megatrends, the JSCCIB-World Bank framework prioritizes five future-focused industries:

Advanced Manufacturing: Driving growth in AI-enabling electronics, semiconductors, and positioning Thailand as an EV export hub.
Sustainable & Wellness Tourism: Shifting from mass tourism to higher-value wellness and eco-tourism across secondary cities.
Digital Services: Boosting fintech, cloud infrastructure, AI integration, and venture capital for startups.
Agribusiness: Upgrading downstream value chains, cold logistics, and climate-smart low-emission farming.
Creative Economy: Scaling digital content, gaming, and IP monetization architecture.

"Thailand's challenge today is not just growth, but building competitive growth in a rapidly changing world. We must 'Reinvent Thailand' by shifting from cost-based competition to capability-driven innovation," Mr. Payong Srivanich, Chairman of JSCCIB, stated. "This summit bridges government vision, World Bank research, and private sector execution to offer global investors a seamless gateway into ASEAN's growth networks."

From Dialogue to Delivery

Moving beyond discussion, the Public-Private Partnership Dialogue established 15 high-leverage action items spanning firm dynamism, workforce upskilling, and urban infrastructure development. These concrete outcomes established structural readiness and a unified economic roadmap as Thailand prepares to welcome the global financial community to Bangkok this October.
