Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) is building on the success of the "From Waste to WOW" initiative for the second consecutive year, inviting students and young creatives to showcase their talent through the transformation of waste materials into sculptural artworks for a New Year 2027 landmark installation. This year, the project has been further enhanced, with contest participants given the opportunity to join a workshop and learn the creative process — from concept development and design to bringing their ideas to life as real works of art — led by specially invited guest speakers with expertise and experience in the art world.
Ms. Mingkwan Pattanawong, Krungsri Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate Branding and Marketing Division, said, "Krungsri is committed to fostering creativity alongside creating tangible value for sustainability, in line with our strategic focus on sustainability across every dimension. 'From Waste to WOW' provides young people with a platform to turn waste materials into meaningful design work while learning the creative processes firsthand from industry experts. Krungsri believes the energy of young people, paired with environmentally conscious ideas, can inspire society to see that celebrations can be beautiful, meaningful, and sustainable all at once."
This year's contest is held under the concept "Long Lasting Celebration: GO Sustainable with krungsri," inviting participants to design a New Year landmark featuring the Krungsri Banana mascot as an element reflecting creativity and sustainability.
For the top 10 finalist teams, the Bank will provide a production budget of 10,000 baht per team to develop the design into an actual finished piece and put the work on public display at Sustainability Expo 2026, ASEAN's largest sustainability exposition, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Among the 10 finalist teams, one team will be selected to turn their design into a New Year Installation — a landmark for the New Year celebrations — to be displayed in the area in front of the Krungsri Ploenchit Office, during the New Year 2027 festive season. In addition, the 1st place winner will receive a cash prize of 70,000 baht, the 1st runner-up will receive 50,000 baht, and the 2nd runner-up will receive 30,000 baht, respectively.
Interested applicants may register and submit entries individually or as a team of up to three members from now until 30 September 2026. For more information on the From Waste to WOW: 2027 Sustainable Celebration Design Contest by Krungsri, please visit https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/1mqHhQJCDE
