th by creating the first e-Commerce platform in Thailand called "Young Talent Platform" for e-Commerce Park which is going to be launched in Thailand e-Commerce Week 2019. Expecting to develop and drive Thai entrepreneurs to Global market and establish the Workforce Center for exchanging knowledge and expertise supporting e-Commerce ecosystem in Thailand.
Mrs. Surangkana Wayuparp, the President of Electronic Transactions Development Agency (Public Organization) or ETDA, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society revealed that during 31 January – 2 February 2019, will hold the Thailand e-Commerce Week 2019 for the fourth year under the concept "e-Commerce In The Park, e-Commerce Is Now #First come, first earn money" at Srinakharinwirot University, Prasarnmit Campus. Opening "Young Talent Platform" to support e-Commerce Park, the first fully integrated e-Commerce Ecosystem Center in Thailand will be inaugurated during the event which is honored by Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, Deputy Prime Minister to preside over the opening ceremony together with a special lecture on "The Core Value and Beyond of e-Commerce Park for everyone" and award the "Thailand e-Commerce Awards: People's Choice 2019" to the winner which is the most Popular e-Commerce entrepreneur in Thailand for this year.
For the highlights of this event, "Young Talent Platform" will be launched to support Workforce by gathering Start ups and experts to create the first Platform in the country that is the center of e-Commerce Ecosystem providing services from e-Commerce business consulting, searching for jobs, searching for funds, business matching, e-learning and online media that connected to e-marketplace and also includes the service for business registration. The platform will help building the whole community ready for Young Talent to exchange knowledge and also provide all the services needed in the ecosystem such as e-Payment and Online Marketing.
Besides, it will display the simulation of e-Commerce Park which is going to be the e-Commerce hub supporting e-Commerce industry all the way to SMEs, product manufacturer and service providers both domestic and international by creating knowledge center and business network which help leverage the competitive advantage of businesses up to the international standard and provide channels for SMEs to create business matching and business cluster. The establishment of e-Commerce Park comes from the collaboration between ETDA and Srinakharinwirot University through Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote electronic transactions and e-Commerce. During the event, there will be the expansion of collaboration with other educational institutes as well in order to enhance the manpower entering Thai e-Commerce market. Srinakharinwirot University is going to be the first prototype location for e-Commerce Park.
"e-Commerce Park concept originally comes from the prototype in China, where 2,000 e-Commerce Park locations were created all around the country. ETDA, therefore, signed MOU with Dong Guan Province, China's no.1 e-Commerce district for exchanging personnel and experiences in e-Commerce aspect.
E-Commerce Park at Srinakharinwirot University, not only does aim to be the center of education, training and cooperating with agencies overseas to create smooth channel for Thai entrepreneurs to export their products to global market, ETDA also set priority for developing and supporting manpower by cooperating with leading educational institutes to support the newly graduates or students who seeks to earn money by joining e-Commerce Park where the young generation are able to develop their potential and assist SMEs to use e-Commerce tools securely and correctly," Mrs. Surangkhana stated.
Thailand e-Commerce Week 2019 also gather all the businesses related to e-Commerce ecosystem, for example, Shopee Thailand and LNW, the e-Commerce service provider platform, Bangkok Bank, the e-Payment service provider, Thai post and Kerry, the logistics service provider and other service providers related to e-Commerce such as Digital marketing, fulfilment management even the photography service also participate in the event. Moreover, the successful online shops will be showcased along with various products from Thai e-Market SMEs.
At the same time, Thailand e-Commerce week 2019 is also packed with activities and seminars from e-Commerce gurus and expertise from Digital industry in Thailand and from global corporations to reveal their e-Commerce vision. ETDA is honored that the speakers for the seminars are from the leading companies in Thailand and from abroad such as Alibaba, CEO & Co-Founder of Priceza, Mr. Thanawat Malabuppha and the influencers such as Point of View, Youtuber with more than 500,000 followers will be joining the stage sharing their knowledge on "how to build career on what you like to do!" , "Get ready for the e-Commerce war in 2019", "every road is heading towards trading online" and "Selling on e-Marketplace will meet more opportunities and become more challenging" as such along with topics from All Gen e-Commerce to provide overall image how business can grow organically by starting with brand building and digital marketing. For the overview of Thai e-Commerce market in 2017, the e-Commerce value survey believes the number of e-Commerce users will grow continuously about 8% in e-Commerce value from 2017 and expected to increase to 3 trillion baht in 2018. The survey also stated that Thai people start to trust shopping online more and search for new online services. As a result, buying products or services online is in the top 5 online activities for Thai internet users and it continues until in this year. The change in customer activities comes from the intervention of Disruptive Technology which plays important role in people' lives creating transition for Thai people towards Digital society. The people who can adapt themselves faster to the change can create new career and income channel along with the growth of e-Commerce market.
For Thailand e-Commerce Awards: People's Choice 2019 for the popular Thai e-Commerce entrepreneurs which will be selected from public nomination, this year ETDA especially open another section for student contests to produce creative media and pitch business in order to support Thai e-Commerce entrepreneurs.
