METROWERKS AND QNX SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
CODEWARRIOR TO BECOME PRIMARY SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TOOL FOR
QNX(R)/NEUTRINO(R) OPERATING SYSTEM
CodeWarrior for QNX will include CodeWarrior IDE 3.0 with a full suite of powerful development tools, including project manager, class browser, compilers, linkers, editor, and a seamlessly integrated debugger, which means all the powerful editing and project management tools in the IDE are available to the programmer during debug.
Hosted on either QNX 4.2, Windows NT, or Windows 95, these tools will support development for QNX/Neutrino on x86, PowerPC, and MIPS targets. (See accompanying announcement from QNX Software Systems or visit http://www.qnx.com.)
The QNX/Neutrino Realtime Operating System is a scalable, fault-tolerant OS with fully distributed processing and the industry's most advanced MMU support. A true microkernel operating system, QNX runs virtually all OS services in separate MMU-protected address spaces to provide maximum reliability and availability at run time. Applications include telecom/datacom devices, industrial controllers, office equipment, medical instrumentation, and consumer electronics.
Pricing and Availability CodeWarrior for QNX is scheduled for beta release third quarter of calendar 1998 and will be available direct from QNX Software Systems.
