SCB Tops baht-bond Bookrunners' List

Bangkok--Apr 28--SCB Siam Commercial Bank was the top bookrunner of Thai baht bonds in the first quarter, placing four issues worth 14.41 billion baht, or 26.98% of the total, according to Thomson Financial Securities Data. Ranked second was Bangkok Bank, with three issues worth 13.7 billion baht. Deutsche Bank came in third with two issues worth 7.25 billion, followed by Thai Farmers Bank with three issues worth 7.2 billion and Citicorp at one issue worth four billion. Rounding out the table was Jardine Fleming Thanakom in sixth, followed by SG Asia Credit, Nava Vickers Ballas, Thai Military Bank and HSBC. A total of 14 issues worth 53.41 billion baht were made in the first quarter, Thomson said. Lehman Brothers was the top bookrunner of Asian fixed and floating rate bonds in the first quarter, with one issue worth $1.59 billion. HSBC placed seven issues worth $1.33 billion, followed by Morgan Stanley with two issues at $848.38 billion, JP Morgan with one issue worth $846.99 billion and Deutsche Bank with three issues worth $602.27 billion.
