Bangkok--May 15--TMAP BANGKOK-TOYOTA MOTOR ASIA PACIFIC PTE LTD (TMAP) announced today that it has opened an office in Bangkok, Thailand, initially aimed at enhancing Toyata's conversion and accessories (C&A) business in the Asia-Pacific region. By setting up in Thailand-home to several vehicle assemblers and an established supplier base, the TMAP Bangkok Office will be well-positioned to promote regional C&A research and development, supplementing the C&A marketing and sales activities carried out by TMAP's head office in Singapore since April 2001. Region-oriented products will be developed for the Thai market and for export to other Asia-Pacific countries. Explaining the objective of TMAP's Bangkok unit, TMAP President Motonobu Takemoto Said, "Thailand is, we believe, the best location to develop C&A products for the Asia-Pacific region. The competition is still getting severer, and we need to provide high-quality and competitive C&A products that meet customers' needs in a timely manner.
