VERITAS Software (Nasdaq: VRTS) today announced the availability of VERITAS Database Edition?/Advanced Cluster for Oracle9i Real Application Clusters, delivering a cluster management solution for Oracle9i Real Application Clusters, as well as the industry's first cluster file system supporting Oracle9i Database on the Solaris? operating system. VERITAS Database Edition? for Oracle9i Real Application Clusters combines VERITAS Software's core storage management technologies with its industry-leading? high availability products, optimized for the Oracle9i Real Application Clusters environment. By allowing a clustered system running Oracle9i Database to operate as one unified database, sharing data and workload, VERITAS Database Edition?/Advanced Cluster not only reduces database and storage administration costs, but also shortens data recovery time and simplifies the implementation of clustered Oracle environments.
