KASIKORNBANK and MasterCard are together launching their first curve card – a new look in credit cards for Thailand calling “Kurve Card” that is targeting the new generation of cardholders who wish to step away from the conventional rectangular style of most credit cards.
KBANK Executive Vice President David L. Hendrix recently pointed out that KASIKORNBANK and the MasterCard International will cooperate on the launching a new KBANK MasterCard – in the “Kurve Card ” style. Its lower right corner will be circular, and the upper portion of the card will be translucent and colorful. KBANK will be the first to launch this new card style in Thailand.
Target cardholders will be those aged between 20-35 years old with trendy tastes and attracted to fresh design, notably in the new card style. KBANK expects to issue about 50,000 Kurve Cards in the first year of the program.
Like other MasterCards, the new KBANK Kurve Card can be used for purchases of goods and services at 31 million leading stores displaying the MasterCard sign globally
All Kurve cardholders will be eligible for KBANK’s regular credit card promotional privileges, notably the KBANK-Value Choice program and the KBANK Cuisine dining privileges. All successful applicants for the KBANK “ Kurve Card” by March 31, 2004, will receive one “Kurve ” bag worth Baht750, free, together with waivers of card entrance fee and annual fees for the first three years. With combined card spending over Baht2,000 using the KBANK “Kurve Card ” within the first two account statement cycles periods, cardholders will receive 2,000 points extra in the KBANK-Value Choice program.
Mr. Hendrix added that the new look of this KBANK MasterCard, the KBANK “ Kurve Card ”, should be interested for credit cardholders in Thailand, considering its successful debut in other countries, especially with younger generation customers wanting a more modern look in their card over conventional rectangular credit cards.
