Central Department Store announced an exclusive partnership with MasterCard International and GE Money to launch new Central MasterCard offering more discounts, privileges and reward points.
Ms. Yuwadee Bhicharnchitr, Central Department Store’s President said: “Central Department Store, together with MasterCard International and GE Money, have extended our credit card capabilities through the launch of Central MasterCard Gold and Central MasterCard Platinum which offer improved choices for cardholders over 24 million merchandisers worldwide. The new cards give 5% discount whenever shopping at Central and its sister retailers including Zen, B2S, SuperSport, and Marks & Spencer.”
Central MasterCard Gold cardholders will receive a 1% discount on filling up with gasoline at Caltex stations throughout 2005. The cardholders can also join ‘Central Reward Points Program’ allowing them to earn one reward point for every Bht 25 spent. The reward program entitles its cardholders to redeem for Central Gift Voucher which can be used to purchase for over 100,000 merchandise items at Central Department Stores.
For Central MasterCard Platinum cardholders, benefits offered include 2% gas discounts at Caltex and reserved Platinum parking at all branches of Central Department Store. Plus, every 2 reward points can be exchanged for one mile from Thai Airways International’s Royal Orchid Plus program.
Extensive privileges provided to Central MasterCard cardholders include utility payment service, travel insurance and special discounts at participating hotels, spas and restaurants.
“The new Central MasterCard also allows us to offer much more to our customers in terms of benefits and privileges. There are currently 500,000 Central Credit Cards in circulation and, with the enhanced benefits, we expect to issue approximately 250,000 Central MasterCard Gold cards by the end of this year,” added Ms. Yuwadee.

Central MasterCard Gold is offered to applicants whose minimum monthly salary is Bht 30,000 with a credit line at double the salary. Central MasterCard Platinum is offered to Central customers whose minimum monthly salary is Bht 250,000 with a credit line that is triple the salary.
To celebrate the launch of the new cards, every Bht 500 spending on all cards from now until 31 May 2005, will be entitled to a chance to win BMW 1 series and a package tour to Paris, Milan or New York as well as shopping free prizes with a total value of Bht 4.7 million.
