Siam Commercial Bank ranked as the top bank in Asean

BusinessWeek magazine’s annual ranking of 150 top performing companies in Asia for 2005 earlier this week named Siam Commercial Bank as the only bank in Thailand and in the Asean region with the top performance in terms of superior growth, sales, earnings, as well as an exceptional three-year growth prospects. The companies in the Asian 150 list were drawn from the Standard & Poor’s / Citigroup Pan Asia Index as of September 30, 2005. The Pan Asia Index consists of companies in the Primary Market Indexes for the developed and emerging markets of Asia, excluding Australian and New Zealand. Of the 18 financial institutions around the Asian region that made the list, Siam Commercial Bank was among the five full-fledged banks that were selected. It was also the only bank in Thailand and the only bank in the 10 Asean countries that received the recognition.
