Innovative Networking Company Honoured Again by World’s Most Prestigious Awards Program for Industrial Design Excellence NETGEAR, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTGR), a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, today announced that it has received the prestigious 2006 GOOD DESIGN TM Award for the innovative, cutting-edge design of its RangeMax Next family of draft-802.11n wireless routers, gateways and access points. Organised by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, the GOOD DESIGN competition honours the world’s best industrial designers and manufacturers in their pursuit of design excellence. Since 1950, the GOOD DESIGN program has emphasised quality design of the highest form, function and aesthetic – a standard beyond ordinary consumer products. Products submitted for the program are judged by a collection of distinguished design professionals, leading industry specialists and design press on criteria established in the original 1950 program. Elements the judges look for in award-winning products include innovative design, new technologies, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment. NETGEAR’s RangeMax Next was selected as having met the program’s rigorous criteria and tests for absolute design excellence. This marks NETGEAR’s fourth such coveted design award in two years, and the second for NETGEAR’s RangeMax Next enclosure, which recently garnered Japan’s prominent 2006 GOOD DESIGN Award.
