BJAC PilotsEdge(TM) Electronic Flight Bag Receives EASA/JAA Certification

Press Releases »

Bangkok--3 Dec--Marketwire

BJAC Services proudly announced today that it has been granted the EASA/JAA Certification for its BJAC PilotsEdge(tm) Electronic Flight Bag for the Bombardier Global aircraft platform. This is in addition to the FAA STC awarded earlier this year, and the Canadian STC last year. Several aircraft are now operating this new innovative EFB, and in-service feed-back is extremely positive. Our customer list is growing rapidly and installations are currently being engineered for the Bombardier Challenger series aircraft, as well as other OEM aircraft types. It is a Class 3 EFB platform from a hardware perspective, built to commercial airline avionics standards, tested to DO-160E, capable of running many different Type A and B software applications from its BJAC's "One-Touch" Menu Page on a robust and reliable Windows XP platform. It also features ARINC 429 and MIL-1553 communications integrated into the Computer Module for reading pertinent data from the aircraft and uploading to the EFB applications, and an integrated video server capable of accepting up to eight video inputs. Several options are available, such as Electronic charts, battery back-up, wireless LAN access and satellite worldwide weather, to name a few. "We teamed with Goodrich because of the simplicity of their EFB's pilot-to-aircraft interface," said Bryan Landry, President, Business Jet Aircraft Completions. BJAC's engineered installation accomplished under a Supplemental Type Certificate allows hard-mounted EFBs to meet and/or exceed client expectations. The awarding of this third certification is indeed a momentous occasion and a significant milestone in BJAC's history, and will no doubt boost our sales worldwide.
