Photo release: Mr. Thomas G. Bata visits Thailand

Thomas G. Bata, Bata Group Honorary Chairman and Mr. Marcello Pace, Group Managing Director BEM East visited Bata Thailand to review the Retail and distribution operations during 23-26 April 2009.Mr.Rajeev Gopalakrishnan, Managing Director, together with management team accompanied Mr. Bata and Mr. Pace visiting number of Bata retail stores with plans to observe the local Thai market trend and to exchange view with customers in store. Mr. Rajeev Gopalakrishnan has reported that Bata Thailand annual growth reached 11% in 2008 comparing the previous year and is beating the recession trend by increasing its marketing budget to raise its business performance this year by another 12 %. Bata will inject 50 million Baht to renovate the store image nationwide. In 2008, Bata opened 21 new stores and plans to open 15 new stores in 2009. In addition, Bata also plans to launch the brand new look of Bata retail stores under concept of "Large Format" stores of 300 sqm upwards. Mr. Bata believes that this new marketing plan would help to promote Bata new look and that its new enhanced products blend with customer’s modern lifestyle. The idea is to attract customers who never considered buying our products and make their shopping experience a pleasure.
