Regional Search for HISTORY Host in Asia is on!

If you know your Qing from your Ming, your Sukarno from your Suharto and have a personality for TV, then you could Make it On History! AETN All Asia Networks (AAA Networks), Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and Beach House Pictures today launched an open call throughout Asia to search for an Asian host for a 4 x 1 hour programme, to be aired on HISTORY?. The successful applicant will stand to win US$10,000 and host at least four episodes of a new series, which will uncover some of the secrets and fascinating stories from the lesser-known parts of Asia. If you are at least 25 years old and of Asian heritage, able to speak English as a first language, a great storyteller, approachable and have a knack for interacting with people, intelligent, curious with a sense of adventure and think you would be great on camera, then you could Make It On HISTORY as the Asian Host of a brand new series. Finalists may be required to attend an audition in a major Southeast Asia city at their own expense if auditions are not held within their city of residence. Audition locations will be determined by locale of finalists. The winner must be available for shooting in four locations within Asia during November 2009 – January 2010 for approximately eight weeks of shooting. All expenses will be covered during shooting, including travel. Interested candidates from Thailand and other Asian countries are invited to upload one colour headshot, a video (no longer than 3 minutes) presenting a piece of little-known but interesting history from your town or city with a write up on why you want to Make it On History plus any samples of prior TV/on-camera experience (not mandatory) via www.historyasia.com by 15 September 2009.
