Unithai Shipyard has received a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award from the Ministry of Industry’s Department of the Industrial Work in recognition of its dedication to showing long-term social responsibility in accordance with the ISO 26000 international standard.
ISO 26000 – accepted by major international organisations in 100 countries worldwide – guides all types of enterprises, public and private, large and small, in demonstrating their commitment to assisting and improving their home nations and surrounding communities. The core idea is to strive for mutual sustainable development through sound organisational governance, recognition of human rights, honourable operating and labour practices, attention to the environment and consumer issues, and community involvement and development.
Recipients of the CSR Award have undergone a verification process, final audit and judging by experts from the public sector in each core field. Unithai Shipyard’s merits were verified as outstanding, underlining its compliance with all aspects of the ISO 26000 program. It becomes one of 96 industries recognised out of 130 that applied.
