Samsung rejoices over the success of its world’s first Android-based tablet “Samsung Galaxy Tab” which has, for just over one month after its official launch, sold over 5,000 units in Thailand by teaming up with the mobile phone operator AIS to support the B2B demands of corporate and large-scale industries in hope to stimulate the Smart Tablet market in Thailand during the final quarter of this year.
Mr. Wichai Pornpratang, Telecommunication Business Director, Thai Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., explains that “Samsung is now riding on the global success of the Smart Tablet. We are the pioneer of the world’s first Android 2.2-based device which is on top of people’s wish list thanks to its beautiful design and comprehensive functions. Samsung Galaxy Tab can truly serve the demands of On the Go people, both on business and communications and online medias, making it the real “More Possibilities On the Go” on which Samsung hopes to become a life-changing device for the new generations.”
Since the first launch of “Samsung Galaxy Tab” earlier in September this year, Samsung is now enjoying the produce of their efforts. As a beautiful combination of good look and functionality, Samsung Galaxy Tab has realized over 5,000 orders in Thailand after its debut and this success has prompted Samsung to expand its customer base onto the Business to Business (B2B) market segment by joining with the mobile phone operator AIS to build up the Samsung Galaxy Tab user network out into the big industries and corporate zones. Samsung hopes that the initial numbers of AIS users will serve as the springboard for the company to later expand its services to the other areas as well.”

We adopt “Business On the Go” concept in offering model applications for 4 main industries including auto insurance, hospital and medical, stock trading and auto trading industries by including the default applications for each B2B customers as follow:

Auto Insurance - A road accident, location and customer’s information can now be reported back directly and accurately by the insurance center, allowing the on-site claims officer to go directly to the scene, take pictures of the accident and with the special application, pinpoint the accident location and report everything back to the center without needing the usual multi-step operations.
? Hospital and Medical Business – Catered to the special needs of hospitals, the applications can enhance the systematic record keepings of the patient, medication, online medical dispensing system on Wireless LAN which sends all information directly to the server for accurate and immediate record keeping which is hoped to soon replace the existing paper-based operations.
? Stock Trading – Investors can now monitor the real-time movements of all stock markets without needing a computer. Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 7-inch screen works on Flash and allows users to use all stock trading programs as if on the trading floor and can also trade their stocks via the tablet.
? Auto Business – Serving as a E-Catalogue, Samsung Galaxy Tab’s ability to work on Flash means customers can see their car before making a purchase. The Tablet allows personalized car purchasing package where customers can download details of their car of choice, browsing through the Flash-based interactive VDO presentation with ability to choose from different models, options, accessories, colours and prices to make the right decision.
