In this seminar Dacon showed its latest innovation in Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) technology, the XL Go camera system. This RVI tool is a 6.1 mm diameter and 5 meter long video color probe, capable of entering nozzles, holes and passages with diameters from 8 mm upwards. Its extended length of 5 meter allows for shorter penetration into any object to view in clear detail the internal condition.
Dacon also presented its Tubular Eddy Current Testing techniques. It is notably the fastest and most preferred tube inspection technique available and can be used on non-ferrous materials like Brass, Copper, Copper-Nickel and Stainless steel. Local defects as well as overall wall-loss can be detected and quantified.
Participants were able to see the high definition quality of the pictures provided by this latest generation of XL Go camera and get an understanding of Tubular Eddy Current Testing technology, both of which are critical inspection techniques in power plants.
