Alitalia and Etihad Airways today confirmed that they have agreed the 2 principal terms and conditions of a proposed transaction whereby Etihad Airways will acquire 49 per cent equity stake in Alitalia.
The airlines will now move to finalise the transactional documents, that will include the agreed upon conditions, as soon as possible. The conclusion of the investment is subject to final regulatory approvals.
Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates and Jet Airways today announced that the airlines closed the transaction for the subscription of a 24 per cent equity stake by Etihad Airways in Jet Airways. All requisite Indian regulatory approvals had been obtained by November 12, 2013.
