ASEAN Brake Conference 2015 was designed to provide the most up-to-date technical information related to the braking system whether in the automotive field and the friction Material industry to all people who interested in. This conference was gathered the engineers, researchers, academics, business manager and owners, and chemical suppliers in Automotive and Friction Material Sector, for example, Roy H. Link, General Chair- SAE Brake Colloquium USA, Hidetoshu Shimizu (General manager of Link Engineering, Japan), Young Swan Shin SE Systems Inc. (Link Testing Lab. Korea).
This conference, Mr. Meechai Sriwiboon, R&D director, was a COMPACT’s representative and as a specializing researcher in braking system had a chance to present the research papers among the world’s leading researchers and suppliers on the topic "Global and Regional Brake/Friction Materials Industry Trends".
One of the interesting and important topics of his research paper found that the passenger cars in Thailand were being used in a variety of purposes and always carrying a heavy load beyond the capabilities of the cars, this cause significantly affected to brake pads and braking system to be deteriorated very quickly.
For example, in Thailand, the pickup cars has become a very significant popular; because it can be used both in the household and the commercial shipping. As the result of an intention of cost-cutting in shipping process, making the pickup cars were always carrying an overloading shipping which directly affected to a very high heat temperature in the car’s braking system, particularly in Disc Brake Pads, than the household used or ordinary used.
All the problems found are becoming the inspiration of COMPACT’s research and development team to invent the new innovation for Brake products to be more high heat resistant and high quality products; so that the pickup cars user can feel more safer and more confident in road driving.
