Airbnb, the world's leading community-driven hospitality company, today announced the appointment of Mike Orgill as General Manager of Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
In his role, Mike will be responsible for building long-term growth in some of Airbnb's fastest growing markets. In the last year alone, Airbnb welcomed more than nine million guests to Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Mike brings a wealth of experience in his previous role as the Director of Public Policy for Asia Pacific at Airbnb. He successfully built and led a team of policy professionals across the region and delivered on the company's efforts to build Airbnb into a 21st Century company that serves all stakeholders, including government and community leaders
Before that, Mike led Google's public policy efforts for emerging markets in Asia. He was previously at the US-ASEAN Business Council in Washington D.C.
Mike will start his new role immediately and report to Siew Kum Hong, Airbnb's APAC Regional Director. Mike will continue to support Airbnb's public policy efforts in the interim until a new APAC Director of Public Policy is appointed.
