On 23 May 2019, Mr. Brett Harman (C
enter, Left) and Mr. Dennis Watson (Center, Right), Australian road policing experts from the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) under the
Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) conducted the Road Policing Leadership Training to 30 traffic police officers from local police stations throughout Bangkok. The training has intended to enhance leadership capacity by understanding key road safety principles and international success in road policing enforcement and strategic planning for optimizing enforcement efforts (includes effective use of resources) in relation with the importance of effective data management to support intelligence-led policing approach.

be 1 of 10 cities to join Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) for 5 years (2015-2019). Aiming to efficiently reduce road traffic injuries and deaths in Bangkok, the Initiative involves the interventions through campaigns to raise road safety awareness, such as campaigns on drunk driving, reducing speed, seatbelt, and helmet wearing as well as through the design of improving safer roads.
