Thai Rice Transforms into Innovative Products

          The Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, has introduced a project called "Think RICE, Think THAILAND" to encourage international community to pay attention to consumer health and to raise awareness on the national crop by providing a wider range of knowledge about Thai rice. Today, by using modern technologies and cutting-edge innovations, Thai rice has been developed and progressed to meet the ever-changing demand of global consumers.
          Thanks to the wisdom that had been passed down through generations, Thai rice has become a staple on dining tables across the world. And today, it is far beyond that, considering that a wide range of innovative products has been made from Thai rice. 
          The Ministry of Commerce discussed that Thai rice today is taking a major leap forward with the incorporation of technology into its cultivation and processing. Because of the variety, its nutritional value and gluten-free property combined with cutting-edge technology, Thai rice has been transformed into numerous innovative products. They meet modern consumers' demand for health-oriented conveniences while also ensuring that each part of a rice plant is used in a sustainable manner, creating new phenomena in the global rice industry.
          Thai rice is more than just a delicious, nutritious staple. Today, Thai rice has been developed into a large variety of products.
          Food Products which are suitable for modern consumers and people suffering from gluten intolerance. Food products include ready-to-eat items such as cooked rice, instant rice soup, brown-rice congee, and cereal bars and health-oriented food items such as organic rice milk, cold-pressed rice bran oil, instant brown-rice drink powder, baby food, energy bars and rice bran oil supplements. 
          Non-Food Products which include cosmetics such as rice stem cell facial moisturizer, rice serum, shampoo and conditioner made from Sang Yot rice extract, rice facial scrub and rice soap and medical materials such as absorbent medical sponges used in surgery and bandages made from rice nanocellulose fibers.
