In collaboration with Goldman Sachs Alternatives, KBank Private Banking will launch a new semi-liquid private asset fund with reduced investment lock-up periods compared to closed-ended private fund structure. Investors can invest monthly and redeem on a quarterly basis[1], with investments locked for only 12 months after the initial investment. The Fund's initial public offering (IPO) will be held from July 30 to August 6, 2024, and is available to ultra high net worth individual clients. Investors will have the opportunity to benefit from stable income with lower volatility, as the Fund focuses on investing in private credit through secured lending to high-quality medium to large companies across various industries with future growth potential in both the US and Europe, and with low default risk. Dr. Triphon Phumiwasana, Senior Managing Director, Private Banking Business Head, Private Banking Group, KASIKORNBANK stated that over the past five years of highly volatile assets in the stock markets and decreased profit-making opportunities, KBank Private Banking has continuously introduced alternative investments to diversify risk in investment portfolios, especially private assets. In 2024, KBank Private Banking has introduced three semi-liquid private asset funds, which alleviate the liquidity constraints of traditional private assets.

Most recently, KBank Private Banking and Goldman Sachs Alternatives introduced a semi-liquid private asset fund named K Global Private Credit Fund Not for Retail Investors (K-GPC-UI). This open-ended fund, offered only to ultra high net worth individuals, provides investors with access to outstanding investment strategies and promising opportunities of long-term returns, compared to US leveraged loans and global high-yield bonds. The fund is focused on providing non-subordinated and secured loans to high-quality medium to large companies in the US and Europe, while also diversifying lending in a wide range of industries with outstanding return opportunities, including promising industries such as software and services, and stable industries such as healthcare and insurance. Additionally, there is low default risk. Investors can increase their investment every month, and investment units can be redeemed on a quarterly basis, while the investment lock-up period is only 12 months. The minimum initial investment is set at 500,000 Baht.

Goldman Sachs Alternatives has over 28 years of experience in private credit investing, with over USD 110 billion (4 trillion Baht) in assets across direct lending, mezzanine debt, hybrid capital and asset-based lending strategies. The alternative investments platform is part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Dr. Triphon noted in closing that amid the prevailing economic uncertainties, KBank Private Banking, as a wealth management advisor and expert, continues to seek opportunities and provide investment alternatives for clients. Focus is on increased investment in private assets and partnerships with world-class fund managers like Goldman Sachs Asset Management in presenting attractive investment opportunities for ultra high net worth individuals. In particular, the new semi-liquid private asset fund offers immediate investment with enhanced efficiency. Following an initial 12-month lockup period, additional investment is permitted monthly, while redemption of investment units is allowed on a quarterly basis. The IPO of K-GPC-UI fund will certainly help diversify investment portfolio risk from traditional private equity funds and increase opportunities to gain long-term returns for investors.
