Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, the President of the University of Phayao, led the university's executive team in inaugurating and viewing the exhibition "One Faculty, One Innovation Community 2024." The event showcased the accomplishments of the project over the past year in 20 areas of Mae Ka Subdistrict, also known as the "Mae Ka Model." The initiative's goal is to establish mechanisms that increase income, enhance quality of life, and promote sustainable resilience in local communities.
During the event, an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between the University of Phayao and the Phayao Provincial Administrative Organization. The University was represented by Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, the President of the University, while the Phayao Provincial Administrative Organization was represented by Mr. Thawatch Sutthawong, the Chief Executive. The purpose of this agreement is to promote research, innovation, and academic services in order to achieve sustainable development in Phayao Province.
The exhibition served as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among a diverse group of stakeholders, including academic researchers, local agencies, and external partners involved in area-based development. Some of the key activities included:
The event also featured a special lecture entitled "Perspectives and Roles of the University of Phayao in Developing Area-Based Managers," presented by Dr. Kitti Sajjavatthana, Director of the Program Management Unit on Area-Based Development (PMU A). During the lecture, he shared his insights on creating effective area-based managers, along with Mr. Ekkarin Latthasaksiri, founder and advisor of the Mae Ing Shibori Natural Tie-Dyed Community Enterprise.
This event aims to inspire new ideas, encourage innovative approaches, and motivate university staff to continue developing the "One Faculty, One Innovation Community" initiative.
