As part of its world-class bar collaboration series, Anantara Siam Bangkok's legendary secret garden bar, Aqua, will host an exclusive collboration on Friday, 13th December 2024, featuring Head Mixologist Ryan Germino and Taiwan's Bartender of the Year, Nono from The Han-jia in Tainan, ranked No. 79 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2024.
Aqua, nestled within Anantara Siam's lush inner courtyard, is celebrated as one of Bangkok's most-loved bars. Since taking the reins in 2022, the charismatic Ryan Germino has curated a distinctive cocktail menu featuring refined signature drinks paired with delectable bites from the hotel's seven restaurants. While minimalist at first glance, Aqua's cocktails reveal deep complexity through Germino's innovative use of advanced culinary techniques.
The Han-Jia, known for its luxurious industrial-chic ambiance blending velvet banquettes and crystal chandeliers, is equally celebrated for its global whisky collection and signature drinks. Among its famed creations is the whimsical Long Island Iced Water, served with a cola gummy on the glass rim. Nono, Taiwan's "World Class" Cocktail Champion 2022, is known for crafting unforgettable cocktails using locally sourced ingredients that evoke a sense of wonder.
The collaboration will feature an inspired lineup of signature cocktails, including:
- The Truman Show 1998 - No.3 Gin, Hojicha, Lychee
- Cafe - Waiting - Love 2014 - No.3 Gin, Red Bean, Umeshu
- Friday the 13th 1980 - Macallan DC 12y, Earl Grey, Clove, Grape
With 17 years of industry experience, Filipino native Ryan Germino has built a formidable reputation in Bangkok's cocktail scene, earning acclaim through partnerships with global bar icons such as Colin Chia (Nutmeg & Clove, Singapore), Jon Lee (Penrose, Kuala Lumpur), and Michito Kaneko (Lamp Bar, Japan).
Meanwhile, Nono's mastery has positioned The Han-Jia as a must-visit destination in Tainan, blending inventive drinks with an exceptional culinary menu that includes highlights such as Squid Croquettes (???????) and Wok-Fried Duck Hearts (??????).
Anantara Siam aims to highlight culinary and beverage talent from around the world and serves as a hub for some of the finest food and beverage experiences in Bangkok. Continuing its commitment to spotlighting global culinary and beverage talent, Anantara Siam will host future bar collaborations, including: Odd Couple, Speak Low and Epic from Shanghai on the 8th January, Le Chamber on the 16th January and Carbonic and Soko Bar on the 22 January.
