Aerogen, the global leader in high-performance aerosol drug delivery,, in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government's trade and innovation agency, hosted an exclusive educational symposium titled "Advancing Aerosol Drug Delivery in Critically Ill Patients: Perspectives from Thailand". Held on 16 March 2026 at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, the event gathered leading medical professionals and high-level dignitaries to discuss the evolving landscape of respiratory therapy and the deepening collaboration between Ireland and Thailand.
The evening was marked by a significant diplomatic presence, highlighting the robust bilateral relationship in the healthcare and MedTech sectors. H.E. Ambassador Pat Bourne, Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand, delivered an opening address emphasising the record-breaking trade growth between the two nations, which now exceeds EUR4.5 billion annually.
H.E. Ambassador Pat Bourne stated: "The relationship between Ireland and Thailand is going from strength to strength, and healthcare is a cornerstone of this partnership. Ireland is a global hub for MedTech, and Aerogen epitomises the quality and ingenuity of Irish innovation. By bringing such world-leading solutions to Thailand, we are not just trading products; we are sharing expertise and life-saving technology that strengthens the bond between our two countries and directly benefits Thai patients".
Minister Charlie McConalogue TD, Minister of State for the Irish Government, further reinforced this sentiment, noting that Thailand has become a well-established priority for Irish governmental visits during the St. Patrick's Day programme. He recognised the strategic partnership between Aerogen and its exclusive Thai partner, Endomed, as a model for successful international cooperation.
Aerogen showcased its core product line, highlighting the Aerogen Solo, designed for invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), non-invasive ventilation (NIV), and High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and the Aerogen Ultra for self-ventilating (SV) patients.
The symposium featured sessions from two of Thailand's most respected respiratory experts:
- A/Prof. Nuttapol Rittayamai (Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University) discussed optimising aerosol delivery for adult ICU patients, citing research that mesh nebulisers significantly improve small airway function in COPD patients.
- Dr Thianchai Bunnalai (Paediatric Intensivist) shared insights in paediatric care, demonstrating how Aerogen's precision helps prevent complications such as volutrauma in tiny, vulnerable patients.
Hannah Yuill, Head of APAC for Aerogen, concluded: "Thailand is a cornerstone of our growth strategy. Through our collaboration with Enterprise Ireland and local experts, we are committed to providing the technological support needed to transform respiratory care outcomes across the Kingdom".
