Swedish Ambassador's Visit to Ericsson 5G Studio further strengthens collaboration between Sweden and Thailand

The visit comes as part of the Swedish Embassy's mission to deepen and broaden the ties between the two nations. Sweden and Thailand have enjoyed 156 years of formal bilateral relations, built on mutual respect and shared aspirations for innovation and development.

"It is a great honor for my team and I to visit Ericsson's 5G Innovation and Experience Studio today," said H.E. Mrs. Anna Hammargren, Swedish Ambassador to Thailand. "Sweden and Thailand established formal bilateral relations in 1868 and we are jointly committed to driving sustainable growth in both nations. Sweden is home to many leading technology companies, like Ericsson, whose innovations can greatly benefit Thai consumers and businesses."

Ericsson's 5GIX Studio, inaugurated in September this year, serves as a hub for innovation and co-creation, enabling collaboration among key stakeholders in the technology ecosystem, including government bodies, telecom operators, academia, and enterprises. The studio highlights Ericsson's commitment to supporting Thailand's journey towards becoming a regional digital hub.

During the visit, Anders Rian, Head of Ericsson Thailand, emphasized the company's long-standing relationship with the country and its role in shaping Thailand's digital future.

" We are honored to welcome the Swedish delegation to the Ericsson studio which serves as a platform for driving innovation and collaboration within the tech eco system in Thailand. 5G will drive more immersive experiences for Thai consumers and drive the digital transformation of enterprises in the country. Ericsson has been a trusted partner in Thailand for the past 118 years, contributing to every generation of mobility here."

The visit underscored Sweden's recognition of Ericsson's contributions to Thailand's telecommunications sector and its potential to bridge innovation and economic growth through advanced technologies like 5G, artificial intelligence, and automation.

The 5GIX Studio in Thailand Digital Valley showcases the possibilities of 5G in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, and smart cities. It exemplifies the transformative impact of 5G-enabled use cases on Thailand's economy and society.
