True Corporation Certified with TISI 9999 Industry Standard, Adopting the Four Sufficiency Economy Principles

Another key tool that supports the industrial sector in conducting sustainable business is the "Organizational Management Approach Based on the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy". This approach is grounded in moderation, reasonableness, and resilience, along with the integration of knowledge and morality. To promote this philosophy, the Ministry of Industry has established the TISI 9999 certification, the Sufficiency Economy Industry Standard, to encourage organizations to manage and operate in a way that fosters balanced development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. The aim is to ensure stability, sustainable growth, happiness, and strong immunity against potential risks. Most recently, True Corporation Plc., represented by Mr. Chakkrit Urairat (right), Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, received the TISI 9999 certification from the Management System Certification Institute (Thailand), presented by Mr. Jongrak Rojpalasatean (left), President of the Management System Certification Institute (Thailand) - MASCI. The certification ceremony took place at the event "Embracing the Sufficiency Economy Towards Sustainable Standards - TISI 9999," organized by Charoen Pokphand Group at True Digital Park.

Lessons Learned from True: Passing All Four Aspects of TISI 9999

True Corporation successfully completed all stages of the TISI 9999 assessment process from strategic planning and the establishment of measurable indicators, to the practical application of the standard through various concrete initiatives. The implementation followed the criteria outlined in TISI 9999 and covered four key dimensions:

1.People Development - Fostering Digital and AI Skills

True Corporation is committed to enhancing employee capabilities by promoting continuous learning and upskilling in digital and AI technologies. The company has set a target that each employee will receive 45 hours of digital, AI, and technology training per year by 2030. In 2024, the average training time per employee reached 54 hours per year, exceeding the target by more than 100%.

2.Economic Dimension - Expanding Nationwide Network Coverage

True aims to achieve 95% nationwide 5G network coverage by 2030. As of 2024, the 5G network already covers over 93% of the country, affirming the company's readiness to provide inclusive digital services. This expansion creates new economic opportunities for rural communities, enabling them to access online markets and broaden the reach of their agricultural and local products. It also empowers SMEs to grow via digital platforms. Farmers benefit from IoT technology and real-time weather data for crop planning, while factories and industrial estates can use the network for improved system communication and efficiency.

3.Social Dimension - Creating Equal Educational Opportunities

As a leading Thai tech company, True Corporation drives inclusive digital society through innovation, particularly in education. The company ensures that students across the country have free access to learning resources via True Plookpanya's online platforms, including websites, TV programs, and mobile applications. True also collaborates with various sectors to advance education nationwide. Through the CONNEXT ED initiative, over 10,000 schools have been empowered to access digital learning resources equally. Additionally, True has established community learning centers and developed the VLEARN platform to support online teaching and learning.

4.Environmental Dimension - Ready to Tackle Climate Change

True Corporation continues to advance energy management through various initiatives. In 2024, the company installed solar panels at a total of 10,416 base stations and data centers, generating 35,216 megawatt-hours of electricity per year and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 14,051 tons of CO? equivalent annually. Additionally, AI technology has been deployed to optimize energy efficiency, resulting in electricity savings of 165,039 megawatt-hours per year and a reduction of 65,850 tons of CO? equivalent emissions. True has set a goal to become a carbon-neutral organization and to meet the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Near-Term Target by 2030. This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions from operations (Scope 1 and Scope 2) by 42%, and cutting emissions across the entire value chain (Scope 3) by 25%, compared to the 2020 baseline.

Mr. Chakkrit Urairat, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of True Corporation Plc, said that "The Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy is a modern and practical management principle applicable across all sectors, including the digital technology business, which constantly faces change and challenges. As a Thai tech company committed to conducting business through a holistic sustainability approach, True Corporation has adopted the TISI 9999 industrial Sufficiency Economy standard to shape both organizational and operational strategies. This has enabled the company to adapt, plan carefully, and use resources moderately, making decisions based on reason and data. It also helps build resilience through risk diversification, innovation, and internal development, while sharing value with society, growing sustainably together."
