PM Paetongtarn Announces ODOS Summer Camp Applications Open on March 24

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presided over the event, providing updates on the One District One Scholarship (ODOS) Summer Camp - a summer opportunity camp. The event was attended by Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, representatives from various embassies and high-ranking officials from government agencies and the private sectors at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn explained that the One District One Scholarship (ODOS) initiative builds upon the previous One District One Scholarship program, expanding opportunities for Thailand, particularly for children and young people. The ODOS Summer Camp is a six-week short-term program designed to provide inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for Thai youth. The program aims to introduce a new mindset, open doors to the digital world and create opportunities for local development by connecting global technology companies, leading universities and Thailand. It is expected to enhance confidence in digital workforce development and introduce new educational formats that ensure equal access to opportunities across the country. This initiative is designed to nurture a new generation ready to adapt to changes in digital technology and geopolitical landscapes.

"The government is confident that the ODOS Summer Camp, operated by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, will be a valuable opportunity for Thailand and most importantly for every Thai student who joins. It will broaden their perspectives and inspire them to pursue the future of their choice. The ODOS Summer Camp will include participation from countries across four continents - North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Applications will open on March 24 through the Thang Rath (ทางรัฐ) application." the Prime Minister stated.

Mr. Prasert added that the ODOS Summer Camp is open to high school students, vocational certificate students, first-year higher vocational certificate students (Diploma level), and first-year university students from all 878 districts nationwide and 50 districts in Bangkok. Participants will gain international education and life experiences while developing digital skills directly from global technology leaders. The program aims to help students find inspiration and make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. It will also prepare them to navigate global social changes and contribute to driving Thailand's economic and social development in the future.

Interested students can apply for the ODOS Summer Camp from March 24 to May 16 via the Thang Rath application. The selection process will include English proficiency tests, digital skills assessments and a lottery-based country selection followed by interviews.
