The curtain has fallen on "makro HoReCa Thailand 2025," the 18th and largest annual food business and innovation exhibition organized by makro, the leading wholesale business under CP AXTRA Public Company Limited. Held under the theme "FOOD INFINITY - Endless Growth for the Food Industry," the four days event drew an overwhelming response from HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant, Cafe) entrepreneurs and food enthusiasts nationwide, reaffirming makro's pivotal role in empowering business operators, elevating Thai food standards, and fostering a sustainable food ecosystem.
Mr. Eakarin Leemaharungruang, Chairman of the Organizing Committee makro HoReCa 2025, stated "This year's event has been a platform for sharing knowledge, culinary trends, and innovations that inspire Thai entrepreneurs to achieve sustainable success on the global stage. Over the four days, the event welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors, underscoring makro's commitment as a long-term business partner to the HoReCa industry. We also proudly hosted the 'makro HoReCa Challenge 2025' under the theme Taste of Asia, which attracted talented chefs from across the country—both professionals and rising stars. Winners received trophies graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha and will represent Thailand on the world culinary stage. Additionally, the makro Thailand Creative Drink Challenge 2025 showcased the creativity of mixologists crafting beverages inspired by Thai local ingredients, reflecting Thailand's unique flavors and artistry. We hope this event continues to spark inspiration and opportunities for all participants to grow together."

Modern Asian Street Food Challenge (Team Category): Mr. Natthapol Khunyodying from Moevenpick Suriwongse Chiang Mai and Mr. Warit Thipkomut
Junior Category: Mr. Kasidith Punnapanich from Heavenli Cafe, Hat Yai
Professional Category: Mr. Paramet Saisutthi from Thailand Avengers Team
Creative Drink Category: Ms. Natcha Chailom from SELLF Coffee, Chiang Mai
Mr. Paramet Saisutthi, winner of the Professional Category, shared "After nine years competing as a junior without ever winning, I decided to enter the professional category this year. I'm deeply proud to have succeeded. This competition broadened my perspective and reinforced that success comes from constant improvement. My gratitude goes to Makro for providing Thai chefs with a platform to reach global recognition."
Ms. Natcha Chailom, winner of the Creative Drink Category, added "With over three years of experience in beverage creation, I joined this competition driven by passion and encouragement from those around me. My drink was inspired by Asian cuisine, combining sour, sweet, salty, spicy, and umami flavors in one glass using unique ingredients like kombu seaweed and silkworms to create a one-of-a-kind taste. I plan to launch this menu at my cafe soon and encourage others to follow their dreams, take chances, and embrace new experiences."
This year also marked the debut of the makro HoReCa Start-up Pitching Challenge, a business plan competition designed to turn innovative food ideas into real start-up ventures. The winning concept, "Kaeng Koban" (Thai Curry-Filled Fried Bread) from Bangkok University, was recognized for its creativity and market potential. In addition, makro presented the Supplier Sustainability Awards 2025 to partners who exemplified excellence in sustainable business practices, as well as the Best Exhibition Award to outstanding exhibitors contributing to the event's vibrancy and success.
The event also promoted sustainability through the AXTRA Green Together Project, encouraging waste segregation and food waste management. Recyclable materials and general waste were collected for recycling, while food waste was delivered to local farmers for use as animal feed and organic fertilizer demonstrating CP AXTRA's commitment to circular economy initiatives and environmental stewardship.
The 18th makro HoReCa Thailand concluded with inspiration, collaboration, and innovation from all sectors. The next chapter, makro HoReCa Thailand 2026, will continue the mission to "Stand by HoReCa Entrepreneurs," led by the new event chairman, Ms. Hyesung Baik, who will drive Thai food businesses toward a limitless future.
